Pretty Little Liars is about four friends being stalked by a mysterious adversary called "A". At first the girls thinks it's their friend Allison, who went missing when they were 13. These secrets where ones only Allison knew about. But three years later, Allison's body was found murdered, leaving the girls to believe that this "A" is someone else. Someone who knows all their dirty secrets and is not afraid to reveal them.
The series stays true to this premise. Each week, we see the girls battle this "A," trying to find ways to stop them including blocking "A's" number from their phone. Soon they realize, this "A" means business and a simple blocking isn't going to them. This first season follows the first three books. So far there are eight books in the series. I guess that means more seasons to come.
A couple of differences:
- The time lapse is one year instead of three. I actually preferred the three. It showed better the growth of the girls especially Aria and Hanna.
- Allison's body is found in the first episode. In the series, her body is found at the end of the first book, thus leaving more confusion for the girls when they realize she's not "A"
