What I like about this book is the concept of the story rather than the story itself. It was an interesting story and kid of the age group will enjoy it. There was tension, mystery and humor. However, what caught my eye was the concept and style. A story that cannot be told, but has to be told. The first chapter alone was interesting. It was a real first chapter. Why? Because to have an actual first chapter would be to tell us the characters and the places. It wouldn't be a secret story after that. The author also had definitions, footnotes and an appendix. Things that make a book interactive and interesting for kids. Because of the secret aspect, kids could even right their own ending to the book before the author decided to close it for them. This book is a series. I'm curious to see what other concepts the series brings. Maybe I'll let you know.
