New Moon Movie Review

2/26/2010

It's very rare that a sequel is actually better than the original, but in the case of New Moon, the movie surpasses its predecessor.

True to the theme of the book, the movie explores the relationship between Bella and Jacob creating the triangle that will become the central theme to the remaining stories: light vs. dark, hot vs. cold, good vs. evil.

While the movie making remains cheesy (a run through the forest scene comes to mind) and the audience geared towards teenagers, watchers who have never read the book will at least get out of the adaptation the same as those who did read it: a movie keeping in line with the plots of the book.

Here's hoping the third installment, already set to release June 30, 2010, will do the same.

The Tickle Monster Book Review

2/26/2010

We've all heard it: "The tickle monster's going to get you" as our mom or dad chases us around the house, their fingers twitching threatening to tickle.  Well Bissett takes one further creating a classic story from a classic childhood memory.  In this version, the tickle monster is from planet Tickle and he's here to bring joy and laughter by tickling the children of planet Earth.

This story comes with tickle monster mittens complete with holes in the fingertips, which allows parents to flip the pages of the book as well as tickle their little ones.  Nothing sounds better than a child squirming and giggling with delight.  Along with bright pictures and a funny story, this book is sure to capture the hearts of parents and children as they share a tickle moment together.  And, hey, as the kids get older, give them the mittens.  They'll enjoy the revenge of tickling back.
