Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Book

Rowlings brought out the big guns on this one.  While there are parts that aren't surprising, this book is complete with moments you couldn't imagine.

The Deathly Hallow, small common objects shown to us in various moments throughout the other books, never revealing their true importance until the end.  What a wonderful concept, "The Master of Death", someone who embraces both life and death.  A fable of three brothers, a children's story come to life.  It reminds you that all stories have a beginning, all stories are based on some legend, some truth, the Brother's Grimm, Hans Christan Anderson, story tellers.  Were their stories based on truth?  Were their stories based on real people and for all we know we could be a descendant of these people as Harry is a descendant of one of those brothers?

It was nice to see the other side of Harry's heritage.  Throughout each book, you wondered about his father, about where James Potter came from and although she didn't go into immense detail, the reader can be satisfied with what Rowling revealed.  A heritage of wisdom, the only brother of the trio to live a long and fulfilled life for while he hid from death, he never feared it.  This is where Harry comes from.

It's nice to see where Rowlings went with Snape.  It was hard to make up one's mind as to whether he was good or bad, but his ending was one to be proud of.   It shows that even the best of people have a dark side.  We all have good and bad in us and it's our choices that make us one or the other.  What's surprising about Snape was his history with Lily, the past between him and mommy Potter.  It builds up the connection, his reason for choosing the side of good and after all this time, it's what kept him there.  Love is a universal feeling and one that isn't easily forgotten and Rowling showed exactly how powerful Love can be.

Rowlings had this boy's story laid out from beginning to end.  When the last book concluded, it was as though the story was truly finished and that she knew exactly what she was doing right up to the very last word.  All story lines, from the invisibility cloak to the legendary Dumbledore battle, was neatly tied together.  It was sad to see the journey end.
