It's very rare that a sequel is actually better than the original, but in the case of New Moon, the movie surpasses its predecessor.
True to the theme of the book, the movie explores the relationship between Bella and Jacob creating the triangle that will become the central theme to the remaining stories: light vs. dark, hot vs. cold, good vs. evil. While the movie making remains cheesy (a run through the forest scene comes to mind) and the audience geared towards teenagers, watchers who have never read the book will at least get out of the adaptation the same as those who did read it: a movie keeping in line with the plots of the book. Here's hoping the third installment, already set to release June 30, 2010, will do the same.
