I know this article alienates some reader outside the state of Mass. The Boston Book Festival is held at the Boston Public Library and this year it's being held on Saturday, October 16th. So why do I write about it. Because it is an example of another type of event that can be beneficial and helpful for writers. Imagine seeing other writers read and talk about their experiences in the industry, giving you tips and tricks on how to make it in the market. Imagine the possibility of meeting one of these writers, being able to talk to them and possibly exchange advice or even contact information. Imagine what that could do for your career.
Events like these are a great way to get out there, to meet people who are in the industry and get first hand advice from those who have made it. Attend or volunteer, it doesn't matter how you do it, just find away to get there. Look at some of these topics:
