I finished Wintergirls and let me tell you: WOW!. Not wow in the since that it was a fantastic, must read kind of book but wow in the since that I can't believe she wrote it. This book definitely had some series, depressing, do not read if you want to be in a happy mood, moments. It did have an interesting style to it:
I felt for the main character and in the end, as a writer, you want your readers to feel something towards your story. What my ultimate feeling is, I'm not sure. But I will figure it out by March 31st. That's our next meeting.
So I started reading Wintergirls. I'm not sure what to think of it just yet, but I do think it may be too early to tell. I had a late start in getting to it. I have 2 other books that need to be read this month: Diary of a Wimpy Kid and How to Train Your Dragon. Both are books being made into movies that are coming out this month, so to talk to you about them, I need to read them. I just finished Diary and figured I could hit Dragon after wards.
Wintergirls is about two friends who decide to make a pack to get skinny. One of them dies and the other must figure out how to survive beyond her friends death and the guilt she feels towards it. It's definitely a more serious read than the last one the group did, but it's supposed to be very good. So as always, I'll keep you posted on my progress.
